Founded in New Zealand in 2000, EROAD develops technology-based solutions to modernize paper-based road tax systems.
In 2009, we implemented the world’s first network-wide GPS/cellular-based road user charging system, which revolutionized the existing paper-based RUC (road user charges) regime in New Zealand. In addition, we also began offering safety and fleet management products and, quickly becoming the leading provider of telematics services to New Zealand’s heavy vehicle sector.
EROAD has been included on the Deloitte Technology Fast 500 Asia Pacific for five consecutive years, debuting at number 10, with growth of more than 2,700%. In April 2014 we commercially launched in Oregon, becoming the first approved electronic Weight-Mile Tax (WMT) service provider in North America. EROAD also expanded into Australia in 2014.
In 2015 EROAD launched its electronic IFTA (International Fuel Tax Agreement) service in North America, followed by electronic IRP (International Registration Plan). In 2017 we launched a compliant ELD (electronic logging device), a fixed, in-cab solution offering unparalleled reliability, convenience and accuracy.
